Short Bio

I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. I received my Ph.D. in Business Economics from the Department of Management, Strategy and Innovation (MSI) at KU Leuven in autumn 2023. During my Ph.D, I worked at ZEW’s Research Department of Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics. My research interests lay in innovation economics, industrial organization, computational economics, and applied microeconometrics. Currently, I am focused on two main areas: Understanding firms' innovation choices and their impact on productivity dynamics, and developing robust computational methods to improve the estimation of economic models. In my research, both engage in the development of new and improved computational methods and apply a variety of econometric techniques to structurally model firm choices and estimate treatment effects. Before my Ph.D., I completed my bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Mannheim in 2016. During my master’s studies at KU Leuven, I majored in research in economics with a microeconomic focus. During my time at ZEW-Mannheim, I taught advanced economics to bachelor students at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mannheim and supervise Bachelor- and Master theses at the University of Mannheim.
